Viridian Press

Viridian Press was founded in 1988 by master printer John Loane who studied printmaking at the Victorian College of the Arts during the 1970s and in 1981 was the founding director of what is now known as the Australian Print Workshop. Originally in Thornbury, Viridian Press subsequently moved to Olinda, and then Canberra, and it is now based in Benalla. Loane has worked with a wide range of artists including  Gordon Bennett, Imants Tillers, Brent Harris, Jeffrey Harris, Aida Tomescu, Peter Tyndall, John Nixon, Jenny Watson, Louise Forthun, Kristin Headlam, and an intensive thirty year project with Mike Parr. Prints from Viridian Press are held in a wide range of public collections including the British Museum, London, the Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York, the National Gallery of Australia and the National Gallery of Victoria.
